Watch the Trailer for Trine: The Artifacts of Power

It’s been more than three years since the release of the last Trine game. The side-scrolling medieval fantasy about a kingdom in ruin, originally released in 2009, sparked a sequel that first hit platforms in Dec. 2011. Now Frozenbyte has officially announced the newest entry in the series with a trailer for Trine: The Artifacts of Power.
From a first look, we have noticed some familiar gameplay and returning characters. Much like the last two entries, Trine 3 will feature physics-based puzzles which players can solve alone or by switching between a choice of three characters. As always, the game will see the return of the Thief, the Wizard and the Knight.
Unlike the previous installments, Trine 3 will feature a 3D plane, allowing players to explore the background and foreground of each setting. The other games, which have totaled $7 million in sales to date, were played on a 2D plane despite featuring beautifully rendered 3D graphics.
There is no announcement of when Trine: The Artifacts of Power will actually go on sale and on which platforms. The last two games were available on Xbox, Playstation and PC.
