A First Look at The Beak and Barrel, Disney World’s New Pirates of the Caribbean Bar

A First Look at The Beak and Barrel, Disney World’s New Pirates of the Caribbean Bar

The Beak and Barrel, Disney World’s new Pirates of the Caribbean bar, opens at the Magic Kingdom a week from today, on Friday, August 29. Endless Mode got a sneak preview this morning, and anybody who loves theme park bars, which you know we do, is sure to enjoy it. The heavily detailed space aims to look and feel like a real tavern pirates would belly up at in the 17th or 18th century, and it’s no surprise that Walt Disney Imagineering nailed the vibe. And of course it’s packed full of references and Easter eggs for fans of the attraction (and, yes, the movies). With a lineup of inspired tropical cocktails and a menu of small bites, The Beak and Barrel will offer a nice escape from the heat and commotion of the park; with its Pirates-referencing story and lovable animatronic parrot Rummy, it becomes something more, an immersive art piece you can drink in that’s still appropriate for the whole family.

We’ll be getting the full Beak and Barrel experience later today, but for now here are a few photos we took within the new bar. They give a sense of how elaborately designed this space is; even when it’s not actually in operation, it’s still a place we’d totally want to hang out in. And look at Rummy’s bed in the second-to-last pic; c’mon, you’d have to be the most heartless cynic alive to not love a bar that has a little bed for its robot parrot mascot.

Look for our thoughts on The Beak and Barrel’s food, drinks and overall experience soon; in the meantime, get an eye full of this beautiful new bar.
