Pokémon Sword and Shield: How to Get All The Alcremie Evolutions

Of all the evolution challenges in Pokémon Sword and Shield, by far the most elaborate but delicious looking is the many paths of the Milcery successor Alcremie. With seven initial variations, plus nine additional varieties based on certain evolution factors, there are well over 60 total types of Alcremie you can get.

The first step in getting every last type is to amass a ton of Milcery Pokemon, which can be found in the wheat fields of Route 4. All Milcery Pokémon are female, which means you won’t be able to take a shortcut by breeding them at the Pokémon Center. Catch as many as you can, but be aware there will be time constraints to evolving them to Alcremie—mainly, the use of treats to evolve them to a new form, and how many treats can be obtained on a given day.

The second step is to accumulate treats. Milcery must be holding a treat in order to evolve to Alcremie, and the type of Alcremie they evolve to will be determined by the treat type. To earn a treat, you must battle the cafe owner at a Pokémon cafe, which are located in Motostroke, Hammerlocke, and Wyndon. Once you win, you’ll be given a treat at random (or in some cases, not at all). The ones that will evolve a Milcery will create a specific Alcremie appearance that features the treat in its design. The treats include:

Berry Sweet
Clover Sweet
Flower Sweet
Love Sweet
Ribbon Sweet
Star Sweet
Strawberry Sweet

To actually evolve the Milcery into an Alcremie, you’ll need to do a spin move with your character. But doing so presents even more variations on the Alcremie. The direction and duration of your spin and the time of day will determine what flavor and swirl of your Alcremie will be produced. The cream types are Vanilla, Caramel Swirl, Ruby Cream, Ruby Swirl, Matcha Cream, Lemon Cream, Salted Cream, Mint Cream, and Rainbow Swirl. Each spin is performed with the left analog stick. In most cases, you must keep the stick rotating, even as your character self-propels, in order to complete the evolution.

Be sure to save your game before each transformation, just in case you don’t get the one you want. It’s very easy to screw up the timing and duration of your spin move. The specifics to each are as follows:

Vanilla: (Day) Clockwise spin until your character strikes a pose.
