Nintendo of America has announced on Twitter that it will be holding a Nintendo Direct on Thursday, July 31. It will be live at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT and focus on games from Nintendo’s publishing partners. The showcase can be watched on YouTube and Twitch.
This 25-minute showcase will be the latest event in what increasingly feels like the summer of Nintendo. Following the release of the fastest-selling console in U.S. history in early June, the company has been keeping folks busy staying up to date on what’s happening with the Nintendo Switch 2. Donkey Kong Bananzajust came out and has been incredibly well-received, currently sitting at an aggregate score of 91 on Metacritic. However, given that this is a partner showcase, don’t expect updates on Nintendo’s future first-party titles like Metroid Prime 4 or anything else the company itself is working on.
This doesn’t mean the showcase won’t hold anything interesting. Given that the Nintendo Direct in April was the first sign of life for Hollow Knight: Silksong in ages, it’s not impossible that we’ll learn more about the highly anticipated game at the showcase—especially with it about to make its public debut at Gamescom next month. This could also be an opportunity to learn more about FromSoftware’s Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods, a game that still feels weird to call a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. And, if either or both of these games are no-shows, there are plenty of other titles confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 that could fill the runtime. As often with Nintendo, players will likely be kept in the dark about what’s in the showcase until it goes live Thursday morning.
You can watch the latest Nintendo Direct below starting at 9 a.m. ET (6 a.m. if you’re on the West Coast) tomorrow, or at Nintendo’s YouTube and Twitch pages.
