Dying Light: The Beast Gets Pushed Back a Month

In a statement on The Pilgrim Outpost, the official community hub for Dying Light fans, the Techland team announced that the release of Dying Light: The Beast has been pushed back to September 19 2025.

The announcement starts on a high note, speaking to the “universally positive response” from the more than 150 previews published by journalists and content creators. It goes on to say “the preview coverage has been viewed by millions of players who looked at every detail of the game with laser focus eyes, highlighting, discussing and getting excited about thousands of details. We’re spending time effortlessly, reading and collecting your feedback and opinions and making sure that your voice is heard and we know exactly what’s important for you.”

Following this, it announces the delay to September 19, stating the additional weeks would be used for extra polishing work. Originally meant to launch on August 22, the dev team explicitly states that the additional time will be used for addressing final touches, focused on “finetuning the balance of gameplay elements, looking into clarity of UI, increasing the quality of physics, as well as tweaking cutscenes and player animations further as well as adding last little details.” The studio ends the announcement saying updates will continue throughout the summer, in addition to a playable demo at Gamescom.

While Dying Light fans may not love the additional wait, the announcement should ease any fans feeling apprehensive about the new game. Given the breakdown of what’s being worked on, alongside an exact new date, this reads more like a team attempting to perfect a final product rather than one scrambling to have anything ready at the finish line. Ultimately, the test of the additional time will be in September when players adopt the role of Kyle Crane and see how tearing apart zombies as a parkour freak of nature feels this time around.
