Nashville singer-songwriter Victoria Bigelow has shared a new track, “Blame,” from her forthcoming EP Going Blue, out in early 2019. The new EP is her first release in nine years. Bigelow moved to Nashville at age 15 to write music and throughout the years, she found herself sidetracked several times—namely by her surprise pregnancy. It wasn’t until age 22 that she was on solid ground again.

Now at age 24 and with a new release on the way, Bigelow sounds confident and headstrong on her latest single. “Blame” is a silky breakup tune with bare guitars and dainty pop vocals, creating a hazy, floating veneer that coats its defiant lyrical underbelly. According to a press release, a violent and toxic relationship inspired “Blame,” and Bigelow adds, “It’s a reflective piece, understanding now the consequences of my own actions and realizing in retrospect that we both were guilty of the same wrongdoings. I find it way easier to write about intense or painful experiences once I’ve made it out of them and into a clearer head space. ‘How could I blame you, I wouldn’t love me at all’ is a self-deprecating, slightly sarcastic response to him cheating.”

The EP was recorded in Nashville with the help of Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer David Leonard (Prince, Paul McCartney, Chaka Khan), and producers Ross Rice and Todd Bradley.
