The Beetlejuice Pinball Machine Looks Super Beetlejuice-y

It’s officially November 14, which means one thing for pinball fans this year: Spooky Pinball’s new Beetlejuice machine is officially on sale, alongside the release of its first full trailer. Spooky’s take on the ghost with the most was officially confirmed with a teaser released late last month, but until today they haven’t really released a good look at the game in action yet. The new trailer might still be on the short side, but it should be more than enough to whet the appetite of any Beetlejuice or pinball fans.

Based solidly on the original 1988 movie, the Beetlejuice pin is chock-full of references to Tim Burton’s goofball classic. Michael Keaton’s prankster is front and center on the backglass, with images of Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Geena Davis, and Alec Baldwin as their movie characters arrayed around him. The playfield particularly riffs on the carnival scene from the movie, complete with Beetlejuice in his carousel hat as the primary focus of its artwork. There are toys on the playfield based on the sandworm, the car crash through the covered bridge that kills Davis and Baldwin’s characters, the demon-faced entrance to the whorehouse Beetlejuice visits, and Beetlejuice’s tombstone—complete with a figure of the man himself popping up from behind it. And since this is a high-tech, modern day pinball machine released in the year 2025, you can of course expect an HD screen on the backglass with video.

The trailer also reveals an amazing topper featuring Beetlejuice in his snake form. His face moves back and forth as his tail rattles, with the tiny shocked face of Glenn Shadix (RIP) as Otho glaring out from below. The only prominent actor from the film who doesn’t seem to have their likeness on the machine is Jeffrey Jones, which, again, isn’t a big surprise given the unseemly legal issues he’s faced throughout this century.

You can check the trailer out below. If you like what you see, the Beetlejuice pin is officially on sale today at Spooky Pinball’s website and through certain dealers—although, shoot, it looks like it’s already sold out. Bummer. Maybe you can pick one up at a pinball show near you, or second hand in a few months whenever an early adopter is ready to flip it for the cash to buy the next hot new machine. Either way, here’s that trailer. Maybe you’ll be able to play it on location somewhere.
