Release Date Revealed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

Pokémon fans have more content to look forward to in the coming months, though it’s all behind paywalls, as Nintendo has revealed the release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s first DLC Mega Dimension. It is slated for Dec. 10, 2025.

The Mega Dimension DLC was first announced in the Sept. 12, 2025 Nintendo Direct, over a month before the base game was even released. The premise of this add-on focuses on the mythical Pokémon Hoopa, which can open portals to other dimensions. Hoopa will be taking Team MZ to an alternate version of the Z-A’s primary location, Hyperspace Lumiose.

Mega Dimension will include additional story content, as well as exclusive Pokémon not found in the base game. In this alternate reality Lumiose City, players will find Pokémon that can temporarily level up beyond the typical level 100 cap. The DLC will also allow players to encounter two new mega evolutions which are exclusive, Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y.

A slate of other new announcements for Pokémon have been shared coinciding with the new DLC’s release date being revealed. Starting on Nov. 6, players can receive the mega stone required to mega evolve the Pokémon Diancie through the mystery gift feature, and an extra side mission related to the mythical Pokémon will be available. The mega stone required to mega evolve Baxcalibur has been announced as a season 4 reward for participating in online ranked battles from the Z-A Battle Club. Doing so requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

The first post-launch patch for the base game has also been released. Version 1.0.2 focuses on adjusting the balance of online ranked battles and a few bug fixes for the game.

The new Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC will be priced at $29.99 USD. Watch the latest trailer here
