Here’s What You Missed At Kojima Productions’ 10-Year Anniversary Livestream

Yesterday, Kojima Productions celebrated its ten-year anniversary with a livestream called Beyond the Strand, where it shared new details on the studio’s upcoming projects. While it didn’t see the type of numbers a major conference or publisher livestream might, the partnership stream with IGN still pulled in a sizable audience interested in seeing what’s next from Kojima’s team, as well as a genuine reflection on what the last 10 years have looked like for the studio.

With that said, here are the major announcements from the event:

Horror Game OD Gets Its First Trailer

Kojima Productions’ upcoming horror game, OD, received a new trailer during the livestream. The Microsoft-published game will feature Sophia Lillis, who starred in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, and Hunter Schafer from Euphoria. Presented alongside Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, the trailer gave a brief glimpse of Lillis’ character and a first-person perspective of her lighting some irregular candles. No more details were shared outside the trailer besides Kojima saying it will be “really scary.” It should be noted that as a Microsoft-published game, it will be subject to the ongoing BDS Xbox boycott.

More details revealed on Physint Project

Kojima Productions’ PlayStation-exclusive, action espionage game Physint had some more details revealed, although admittedly not much. Kojima confirmed that, while characters and stories were still being worked on, official development had begun. In addition to a new poster being shared, three actors were confirmed to be joining the game’s cast, each of whom gave a video message for the presentation. This included Charlee Fraser from Furiosa: A Mad Max Story, Don Lee from Eternals, and Minami Hamabe from Godzilla: Minus One.

A New Death Stranding Animation Project Announced

Kojima announced an upcoming animated film called Death Stranding: Mosquito, which will be directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto and written by Aaron Guzikowski. It will feature a unique style that starts with hand-drawn lines that are then digitized to create the animation, which can be seen in the brief but action-packed teaser trailer. Notably, the game series protagonist Sam Porter Bridges will not be the main character. Studio Easter, who recently worked on Dandadan, are doing the film’s backgrounds.

An AR Project With Pokémon Go developers Niantic Spatial

The livestream revealed that Kojima Productions has partnered with Niantic Spatial (formerly Niantic) on a new AR project that Kojima touts as being “like the real Death Stranding in the real world, and you can connect with people, or you can connect with the actual environment there in your city. Previously, it was like virtual reality, but this time I’m thinking about connecting with the real environment.” Details are scarce about the project beyond it being in the works.

Other Announcements

The director of the upcoming Death Stranding live-action movie, Michael Sarnoski, shared a small update about the A24 film, saying that the team will be sharing a story not told in the games before.

Kojima Productions is collaborating with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group on a brand new credit card that will be released in the second half of 2026. In addition to coming with a smartphone app and digital card, it will let users earn points that can be used to get merchandise and goods.

Kojima Productions will be working with Shimizu Seizaburo to make a branded sake called Zaku Ludens.

Lastly, Kojima also talked a bit more about the studio’s 20-year plan. While the first phase and much of the second were focused on Death Stranding as a game and larger IP, its future will include the creation of new properties that won’t stick to just games.
