BanG Dream! Ave Mujica Anime Film Announced

It seems there’s a lot of BanG Dream! on the horizon. In addition to the previously announced TV sequel that will follow up on the bands from the last two seasons, BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica, we’re also getting an Ave Mujica movie. That said, it hasn’t been specified if the movie will be a recap film that summarizes the events of the previous season or if it will cover new material. Additionally, it seems that both the upcoming film and TV series are currently in production.

Beyond this, we also received confirmation that the mini-anime, Ganso! Bandori-chan, will come out on October 2, 2025 on YouTube and other streaming platforms. It will then be released every Thursday for 52 episodes. It features chibi versions of various BanG Dream! characters and will be more short-form, with episodes presumably running a couple of minutes long.

For those unaware, BanG Dream! is a multimedia franchise centered on several all-women bands; basically, the voice actors behind the members of the musical groups in the anime and games also perform in real-life bands that correspond to their fictional counterparts. BanG Dream! spans anime, live concerts, albums and singles, a mobile game, VTubers, and more. Currently, the BanG Dream! banner has 11 separate bands that have debuted music.

While the franchise has been big in Japan for some time, it seemed to gain more traction in online circles when the excellent 2022 anime It’s MyGO!!!!! took many by storm overseas before being followed up by its bold sequel, Ave Mujica.

As for It’s MyGO!!!!!, the anime follows a group of troubled teens who decide to form a band after their previous musical act breaks up; It’s sincere, raw, and quite moving. Meanwhile, Ave Mujica is centered on an even more disastrous group who perform in a theatrical, gothic-themed band, as their many personal issues result in psychological horror and unhinged family backstories. Both are more than worth a watch.
