Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Gets New Trailer, Full Cast Announced

The animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions is coming back for a third season on October 29, and ahead of its release, we got a cool new trailer that offered a peek at its many shorts.

Of Volume 3’s nine episodes, three will be continuations from the first season: there’s “The Duel: Payback” from Kamikaze Douga and ANIMA, “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” from Production I.G., and a follow-up to “The Village Bride” called “The Lost Ones” from Kinema Citrus Co. “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Village Bride” were two of the best episodes from the first season, so their continuation is particularly exciting.

Beyond these three, there will be six additional episodes, animated by Wit Studio (Spy x Family, Vinland Saga, Attack on Titan, etc.), TRIGGER (Kill La Kill, New Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, etc.), David production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Polygon Pictures (Knights of Sidonia), and Project Studio Q.

As for some of the names attached to the English-language dub, they are as follows: Anna Sawai, Freddie Highmore, George Takei, Harvey Guillén, Jodie Turner-Smith, Judith Light, Simu Liu, Stephanie Hsu, and Steve Buscemi. You read that right, Steve Buscemi will be voicing a character in an anime—what a time to be alive.

The first season of Star Wars Visions was animated by several Japanese animation studios, while the second was made by teams from all around the world. Volume 3 will once again be handled entirely by anime studios. Like any anthology, the series has its ups and downs, but at its best, Visions has offered some thoughtful, visually imaginative spins on the galaxy far, far away that are refreshingly non-canon.
