Ghost Concert: Missing Songs TV, New Anime From Symphogear Creator, Announced For 2026

Kadokawa announced today that it’s collaborating with anime studio ENGI (Medalist) and music group Elements Garden on an original anime, Ghost Concert: Missing Songs TV. The show’s cast, staff, and plot setup were revealed alongside a trailer and the teaser image below. The series will release in 2026.

The series’ plot description is as follows: “The year is 2045 in a world where singing is prohibited, and an app called MiucS creates and performs all music in place of humans. While out with her friends, a young girl named Seria Aiba hears something she shouldn’t: the sound of singing. What’s more, the voice is coming from an otherworldly being — a ‘Great Ghost.’ A group of psychic mediums known as TERA. And the resonation of ‘Possession Requiem.’ This is the story of how I became a ghost.”

The press release describes the show as a new “Song Battle Series” that will act as a successor to Symphogear. The series comes from Symphogear creator Noriyasu Agematsu, a founding member of Elements Garden who also created the anime VISUAL PRISON and Utano☆Princesama Legend Star.

Minori Fujidera (Hana in Flower and Asura) will star as the series’ lead Seria Aiba, while Rina Hidaki (Michiko in Michiko and Hatchin, Keiko in Sword Art Online) will play the ghostly presence she communes with, Cleopatra.

Masato Jinbo (Restaurant to Another World, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!) will direct and handle series composition. The rest of the staff is as follows:

  • * Character Designer: Masaaki Uikawa
  • * Art Directors: Tetsuya Kusama, Atsushi Satomi
  • * Art Designer: Takeyuki Takahashi
  • * Color Designer: Aiko Matsuyama
  • * Director of Photography: Atsushi Sato
  • * Editor: Yuji Kondo
  • * Sound Director: Masanori Tsuchiya
  • * Sound Effects: Rei Ueno
  • * Music: Elements Garden

If the series is anywhere near as bonkers as Symphogear, it will certainly be one to look out for.
