Co-op Alien Shooter Earthfall Out Today with Brand New Launch Trailer

It’s time to take on an alien invasion with a couple of friends. Earthfall launches today, Friday, July 13, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. To celebrate the game’s release, developer Holospark released a launch trailer showing off all of its four-player co-op action.

Earthfall is a co-op shooter in the same vein as other popular games like The Killing Floor 2 and Left 4 Dead. In the year 2031, several meteors hit Earth, bringing along invading aliens, and rendering most satellites and technology useless. Gameplay charges players with taking on hordes of enemies in waves while you and a group of three other teammates fight to survival.

Like most games in this genre, there will several different enemy types to stand in the way of you taking back your city—those include drones, sappers and beasts, each with their own abilities and obstacles for you to tackle. Luckily, developer Holospark wanted to make the game more tactical, so players can strategize their plan of attack with turrets and other tools at their disposal.

Holospark details what players can expect when they jump into the world of Earthfall, including:

Cooperative Survival For up to Four Players – Team up with friends to survive the alien infestation. Robust multiplayer support and A.I. teammates stand ready to ensure a full team at any time regardless of available players.

Build Your Defenses – Strategically deploy barricades to block the enemy hordes and install turrets anywhere to create perfect alien-killing zones.

Multiple Campaigns – Each campaign tells a story across several missions, allowing players to dive in and experience diverse settings and mission types across the Pacific Northwest.

Close Encounters of the Brutal Kind – Deadly aliens come in all shapes and sizes, from massive drones armies attacking in waves to towering behemoths spitting plasma – every experience is different, each time you play.

Battle Unpredictable Enemies – Earthfall features a dynamic spawn system providing a constant set of new challenges lurking behind every corner.

An Unfolding Story – Every campaign reveals new content and secrets behind the world of Earthfall and the cataclysmic alien invasion.

MixPlay Mixer Integration – Mixer livestreamers can get their viewers involved through MixPlay integration in Earthfall where the audience can spawn aliens at will, drop health packs for players, and even designate a player to be the main target of alien mobs!

Integration with Microsoft’s Mixer platform is an interesting addition to the game. It’s reminiscent of Telltale Games’ Crowd Play feature, where people viewing your game can affect the gameplay. This feature will only be available on the Xbox One and PC versions of Earthfall. Holospark will also be supporting the game post-launch with free updates every four to six weeks.
