Surprise! Modern Warfare Remastered is Available Right Now for PS4

Last week, we covered some rumors that claimed a remaster of the hit game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, would soon be released as a standalone title. Previously, the remastered version of the game was only accessible through the deluxe edition of the most recent Call of Duty game, Infinite Warfare. And lo and behold, the rumors were true: Modern Warfare Remastered is available for purchase right now, provided you’re willing to play it on a Playstation 4. There is no currently announced release date for Xbox One or PC versions of the game.

The remastered release includes the full campaign, as well as 16 multiplayer maps, but notably will not include the Killhouse, Broadcast, Creek and Chinatown maps featured in the “Modern Warfare Remastered Variety Map Pack” bundled with Infinite Warfare. The game’s release coincides with Call of Duty’s “Days of Summer” promotion. The five-week event will feature double XP, new playlists, gear and more warfare-related goodies. Also included is a summer-themed map available for Modern Warfare Remastered owners for as long as the event lasts.

The game, available here, is retailing for a cool $39.99. We’ll see you on the leaderboards.
