Bandai Namco’s Code Vein Delayed to 2019

Originally set to release on Sep. 28, 2018, action-adventure RPG Code Vein has been delayed until 2019, according to Bandai Namco. “The decision to dedicate additional time to further develop Code Vein; ensuring the final product delivers on the expectations set amongst media and fans,” says the publisher in a press release.

Code Vein has had a pretty heavy marketing campaign since it’s announcement, with Bandai Namco releasing producer interviews and most recently character trailers. Due to the delay, the game will be skipping Gamescom 2018 in August. Code Vein was originally set to have a playable demo on the show floor, but the company felt improvements needed to be made before allowing people to get hands-on time with the game.

“Code Vein has received an enormous amount of positive feedback from eager fans who have received hands-on time with in-development versions of the game over the past nine months,” said Hervé Hoerdt, Vice President Marketing and Digital at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe. “Armed with knowledge of how well the game has already been received, we made the decision to postpone the release of Code Vein to further refine its gameplay in an effort to exceed the expectations fans already have of the title. It was a difficult decision to make, but we feel it is the correct one.”

Although Code Vein has been pushed back to 2019, Bandai Namco did not give a window or firm release date for when the game will arrive.
