Dark Souls Remastered Confirmed For PS4, Xbox One and PC

Following the announcement of Dark Souls Remastered’s release on the Nintendo Switch earlier today, Bandai Namco has confirmed that the title will also be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 25. Long-time fans of the series will be glad to know that From Software was also confirmed as the developer of the upgrade in lieu of handing things over to a third party.

The remaster will include both the main game and the Artorias of the Abyss DLC while giving the entire package a graphical and visual upgrade. The game will utilize the improved graphical output of the next-step consoles, inviting players to “experience the rich world of Dark Souls in upscaled 4K resolution with 60FPS when playing on a PlayStation 4 Pro system, Xbox One X, and PC.” The Switch version of the game will top out at 1080p at 30FPS.

Just like the Switch release, Dark Souls Remastered will feature online multiplayer with support for up to six players. The highest amount of supported players previously had been four. The release will also support the use of dedicated servers.

Bandai Namco also announced a massive Dark Souls Trilogy box set that has only been slated for release in Japan currently. The box will include Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition, soundtracks for all three games, bookends, a set of artwork, and reference materials that detail and define everything within the series. Don’t be surprised if this package makes its way Stateside at some point.
