The bad news is that we’re going to have to wait a little while to get the answers to those questions (probably not that last one, though).
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima announced today that the specifics of the new console/handheld hybrid will be announced at the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 on Jan. 12. The event will be exclusive to media, analysts, and Nintendo’s partners, but will also be livestreamed. Among the details Kimishima said will be revealed are the device’s exact launch date, the price and a list of games that are currently in development for the console.
If waiting until March to get your hands on the Switch is too much for you to bear, there will be hands-on “sampling events” held in the U.S. and Europe sometime between the January presentation and the March release. Details on those events will be announced at a later date.
The Nintendo Switch comes out in March of 2017. If you haven’t frozen yourself Cartman-style in order to skip that wait, maybe you should watch the reveal trailer again, embedded below.
