Pokémon Sun and Moon got a new trailer today showing off more new Pokémon from the Alola Region, as well as new forms of old Pokémon, such as Raichu (above). The new team of villains was also revealed: Team Skull.
Wishiwashi
Wishiwashi is a new Water Type Pokémon with a special Ability. In its Solo Form, pictured above, Wishiwashi is weak, measuring just eight inches from nose to tail. However, under “certain conditions” this Pokémon’s Ability—Schooling—activates and it transforms.
Wishiwashi’s School Form is made of many individual Wishiwashi’s. In this form, it becomes so powerful that even “even Gyarados flee from [it],” as per Pokémon’s website. It is currently unknown what causes its ability to activate, but if its health falls too low it will revert to its Solo Form.
Pyukumuku
The Water Type Pyukumuku may be the funniest Pokémon revealed yet. Once this sea cucumber of a Pokémon “finds a place it likes, it won’t budge from it. If someone moves it away, back it comes to the same spot. If it runs out of food to eat in that spot, it’ll stay there—and starve. The people of Alola found this so pitiful that they developed a tradition of chucking Pyukumuku back into the food-rich sea whenever they come across any thin-bellied Pyukumuku.” Pyukumuku has the new Ability Innards Out which activates when it faints, damaging the opponent.
