Kojima Productions Will Showcase Teasers For Upcoming Games At 10th Anniversary Celebration

Yesterday, Kojima Productions announced “Beyond The Strand,” an in-person event that will celebrate 10 years of Kojima Productions. It will be hosted by Hideo Kojima himself and will feature special guests alongside “a glimpse into future projects.” The event is taking place at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025. Tickets for the event went on sale last night at 9 p.m. EST via a lottery system for ¥7,700 (approximately $52).

As for what games the “glimpse into future projects” is likely referring to, the studio has already announced its next two projects, OD and Physint. As for Physint, it is apparently “five or six years away” and is a stealth action game that is inspired by the Metal Gear Solid series.

As for OD, it is a horror game that was announced as a partnership between Kojima Productions and Xbox Game Studios at 2022’s Xbox Developer Direct. Then, during the 2023 Game Awards, Jordan Peele appeared on stage to reveal he would also be working on the game. Its first teaser trailer was then shown, portraying a photo-realistically rendered Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier spouting nonsense sentences that sound like tongue twisters.

Kojima has described the game as “something totally different…people will love it or hate it.” He also said that, “We are working with Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology to take on the challenge of creating a very unique, immersive, and totally new style of game — or rather, a new form of media.”

It should be noted that by “cloud gaming technology,” Kojima is likely referring to Xbox Cloud Gaming, which runs on Microsoft Azure servers. Microsoft is currently being boycotted by the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement because the company has supplied the Israeli military with custom-built Azure Cloud software, which has allowed them to conduct massive-scale surveillance on Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Specifically, the Azure cloud technology allowed the Israeli military to record every call made by Palestinians in the region, and “had been used to blackmail people, place them in detention, or even justify their killing after the fact.” Later, the technology was used to help coordinate deadly airstrikes on Palestinians. As a Microsoft-published game, OD would fall under the BDS boycott if it is still ongoing at the time of the game’s release.
