It’s hard to believe that only a year ago Fortnite was released. Originally a game that had been in development for years, it eventually evolved into one of the most popular games of this generation with the addition of its Battle Royale mode. For the next week until Aug 7, Epic Games is celebrating the release of the original game mode, the Save the World campaign, by giving out some birthday goodies for players.
The publisher announced that starting today, players will be able to participate in an in-game event as a part of the first year celebration. The event tasks players with completing challenges and quests, which will earn them access to special birthday cosmetics. Epic reveals that players will be able to unlock several items, “from the birthday Battle Bus to the sploder husks carrying a tasty surprise.”
The following challenges and quests are available to players during the event:
– Deal 1,000 damage to opponents to unlock the Fortnite Birthday! Emoticon
– Dance at different birthday cakes to unlock the Happy Birthday! Spray
