Of the three new games, Lies of P feels like the standout, especially if you enjoy games that pummel you into a fine powder. While it was viewed somewhat incredulously before release due to its aggressively self-serious take on Pinocchio, it won over many who played it thanks to its challenging action and striking Belle Époque-inspired look. Its inclusion on PlayStation Plus comes shortly after the game received a substantial DLC expansion, Overture, on June 6.
Additionally, there’s DayZ, a survival game that got its start as a well-known mod for Arma 2. After several years in development, the standalone version of the game came out in 2018 to a largely positive response from general audiences and a largely negative response from critics.
Lastly, there’s My Hero One’s Justice 2, a 2020 arena fighter set in the world of the popular anime/manga My Hero Academia. Like most arena fighters, you duke it out with a simplified control scheme compared to more traditional fighting games, in this case to unleash these heroes and villains’ superpowered Quirks.
Beyond these three games, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download a special set of avatars from Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo IV, God of War Ragnarok, and more to celebrate PlayStation Plus’s 15th anniversary. PlayStation Plus was originally introduced for the PS3 on June 29, 2010, as a premium service that offered store discounts, monthly games, and more. Then, with the release of the PS4, Sony changed its policy so that a PlayStation Plus subscription was necessary to play most games online, a policy that has remained in place since then.
