Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is enjoying great success during its Xbox One launch week, topping 50,000 copies sold in just six days. The BAFTA-winning title would undoubtedly sell well on its own merits, but developer Ninja Theory attached an added motivation to get players to part with their cash by connecting donations to Mental Health America to its first week sales goals.
By topping 50,000 copies, Ninja Theory has committed to a $25,000 donation to Mental Health America. It’s a testament to the game, which has been lauded for its representation of those struggling with mental illness. What’s even better is that Ninja Theory isn’t content with either the sales or donation totals. With one day left before their personally set deadline, the company is pushing fans to reach their ultimate goal of 100,000 copies sold, which would double the donation total to $50,000.
We’ve hit our target of selling 50K units of #Hellblade on #XboxOne in Week 1!
